Tim Tyson Book Signing

Tim Tyson returned to Freedom Library today to sign copies of his book, Blood Done Sign My Name, for Phillip O. Berry students who attended his presentation in April. We were also lucky enough to have Mary Williams back as well.

Dr. Tyson stayed at the library for over three hours, not only signing books, but personalizing each and every one.

In total, he signed 110 copies of Blood Done Sign My Name!

And whether he was dealing with one teen...

or a room full of teens...

Dr. Tyson took the time to talk with each individual - offering advice, telling stories or congratulating them on their successes.

All in all, we really enjoyed Dr. Tyson's visit and we welcome him and Ms. Williams back any day of the year!

Author Timothy Tyson Visits

On April 24th, Timothy Tyson visited Freedom Regional Library and Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. Who is he? He's the author of Blood Done Sign My Name: A True Story, which is being made into a movie later this month!

Dr. Tyson was joined by Ms. Mary Williams, a gospel singer. Both gave an amazing one-hour presentation to a crowd of 80 high school students. If you were there, consider yourself lucky especially since you'll be receiving a free copy of Tyson's memoir!

We hope that he will return later this month, and if he does, we know you'll welcome him the Freedom way. Keep your eyes open for casting calls to be part of Blood Done Sign My Name-there was already one in Charlotte. Be sure to read (or star in!) Blood Done Sign My Name by Timothy Tyson!
